Most software has a list of predefined actions that can be performed hard-coded in. However MDX is different. Three features make MDX different from other programs out there.

The first and most noticeable of these is MDX's ability to be completely skinned. Skinning is a method of making the program look like anything you want without needing to code or program. With Fusion Control Centre MDX Configurator (included in the installer package) the entire layout, feel, and function of the program can be changed with mouse clicks in an easy to use manner. Any image can be changed, moved, resized, rotated, or even deleted. You can add as many images, text labels, guages, and many more display options as you want. The entire look and feel of MDX can be cultivated to your desire easily.

The second being MDX's fully programmable logic section. Instead of predefined actions, MDX parses unlimited amount of syntax that is easily creatable using the graphic interface of the Fusion Control Centre MDX Configurator. If/Then logical blocks are used to evaluate and process sensory inputs and allow complex output algorithms.

The most important of these features is the new voting system. Instead of buttons and logic evaluations turning on an output or performing any other action, it votes what it thinks should happen with an attached priority. If a vote with a higher priority comes in, its vote is counted more and will most likely be used to evaluate the outcome. If multiple votes come in with the same priority, they are averaged together for the outcome even if they are contradictory. If the net vote is 0, or no change, then nothing new will happen.
